The Graduate Support Program of Nativity seeks to give financial, academic, and spiritual support to middle school graduates as they journey through high school and enter college.
The Graduate Support Program promises to provide the following all its students:
High School Financial Aid: $7,000 is the average cost for a Nativity alumnus to attend one of the area Catholic schools. Nativity promises to provide a tuition subsidy to make up the difference after family contributions and high school financial aid.
Mentoring: The overwhelming majority of our graduates will be the first in their family to graduate from high school, let alone pursue a college degree. The Nativity Jesuit Middle School Mentor Program assigns each graduate an adult mentor. There is a direct correlation between the growth of Nativity’s Mentor Program and the success of our graduates. Study Hall Access: On Monday through Thursday evenings, while Nativity’s students are attending their mandatory study hall from 7 8:45 p.m., a resource room is made available for our graduates. This optional program is extremely popular because our graduates benefit from the dedicated, quiet space for them to do schoolwork.
Computers: A critical aspect to the Graduate Support Program is assuring our alumni are provided the appropriate tools to allow them to compete and achieve while in high school. Upon graduation, Nativity provides a computer for each of its graduates for use in their home throughout high school.
Support from the Director of Graduates: Larry Siewert, who previously served as Nativity’s first principal, is now Director of Graduates. He allocates more than 50 percent of his time to coordinating and expanding the support network for Nativity graduates enrolled in high school. Since the program formally began, no Nativity graduates have dropped out of high school, a greater number have experienced success while enrolled in Catholic high schools, and more are seeking post-secondary degrees.
